Has vintage become vintage?

As i was wondering down the cobbled streets of Portobello Market this morning, I was looking around thinking to myself that the whole concept of vintage is mirroring the clothes nowadays, old and worn. I love vintage finds but I no longer find it exciting. It’s overpriced, mainstream and commercialised. And then i stumble across this article summing my thoughts up exactly http://www.guardian.co.uk/fashion/fashion-blog/2012/jan/27/vintage-clothing-passe

I am a long lover of vintage, I used to love roaming round my local charity shops, but its not a treat anymore to find a beautiful piece. Everyone is vintage now and you can obtain a modern version on the high street for less effort that is clean and new, and doesn’t have the musty charity shop smell or a button missing.

Vintage clothing will never be out of demand, but for me it’s got to the point where vintage has matured past its sell by date.
