So the day that divides the nation is fast approaching, yes it’s St Valentines day. I personally don’t agree with the concept of one day a year being designated for couples to be especially nice to each other whilst putting a price on “I love you”, but maybe i’m just a cynic nowadays. February 14th leaves the single half of the nation to sob into our pillows or cry onto a friends shoulder how life’s not fair or i miss my ex, which isn’t fun! So for everyone who’s stuck for something to do on the cheap, with or without their better half tomorrow night, i’ve found some fun activities you can check out with a little help from TimeOut..
Valentines Day pop up cinemas
a selection of unusual locations screening an array of romanctic films, from classics such as ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’, to romcoms, golden oldies, or ‘Brief Encounter’ for those not in the happily ever after mindset.
those of you looking for a laugh are in luck, there are numerous stand ups, hit shows, and open mic nights and lots of which are free, happening in and around central London. From the likes of Michael McIntyre, John Richardson from 8 out of 10 cats, US comedy legend Jackie Mason and newcomers such as 20 year old Daniel Sloss.
For are any fellow star gazers out there, this is quite lovely. The Royal Observatory in Greenwich are hosting a special “evening with the stars valentine special”, where couples can spend some time in the planetarium, looking into space and holding hand under the stars.
Lastly, if any one has an achy breaky heart tomorrow there is a free Mending Broken Hearts Seminar at the Pathology museum, with free chocolate and wine!
