Hello and happy weekend!
Here’s a little post about a trip to the zoo last weekend if you, like me, are sat in bed thinking what to do this weekend. If you’ve never been to London Zoo I would really recommend a visit AND you can get 2for1 entry until October with London Midland! There are LOADS of London attractions for half price, major ones like London Eye, Madame Tussauds, Ripleys, Kew Gardens, Tower of London etc and then some more quirky Tours. And the best thing – there are no tricks or hidden charges. This is what H and I did after I saw the adverts and pamphlets on the trains last week. It’s a really good deal, you just have to go on the above link and select your attraction and then print out a voucher code when you get there for 2for1, alongside a national rail ticket. Tip for Londoners, you can buy a day Travelcard as this counts for a rail ticket. That means
£27£13.50 Zoo entry and £12 (£8 if you have a 16-25 railcard) travel and that’s your day sorted!
Last weekend was the second time I’ve been to London Zoo in the four years that I’ve lived here in London and I loved it just as much if not more than the first time when I had just started uni and I went with my friend Joe in 2011. Whilst my brother-in-law laughed at us for being fully grown adults going to the zoo, I love it.
London Zoo, for anyone who hasn’t been before and are thinking about it whilst in London, is located in North West London near Camden and right next to Regents Park – two great places for a spot of people watching before or after the zoo and for carrying on your evening.
My all time favourite thing about London Zoo is Penguin Beach, I love seeing those little guys hanging out and waddling around. If you go on the weekends then be prepared for lots of kids around, but if you go in the week or towards the end of the day then it’s not so bad.
Here are some pictures of our day at the Zoo (mostly of Penguins)… ZSL is a failsafe day out and you may as well make use of an offer like this one!
*This is not sponsored at all, just helping everyone to experience the wonders of London! Another offer that caught our attention is the Drink London pub tour – but I think this could swing both ways between awkward and awesome.
